Big 5: five secrets to success

1. Serve to discover abundance: the radical shift from ‘me’ to ‘we.’ Winston Churchill, the inspirational British leader during the second world war said; “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” When you serve, you discover that often the most important things you have to offer are not things at all. You start to uncover the full range of resources at your disposal – your time, presence, attention – and recognize that the ability to give stems from a state of mind and heart, a place much deeper than the material. Inspired by the possibilities this opens up in every moment, you begin to discover humble opportunities to serve – everywhere.

 2. Positive Influences. Fill your life with positive people, books, tv shows, social media. Thoughts and emotions are contagious. Limit the negative influences and increase the positive.
 3. Be an Optimist. “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” Remember most things you fear will never happen. They are just monsters in your mind. They distract us, hold us back from our potential and convince us to waste our most precious commodity, TIME.

4. Work Hard. A continuous strong effort is the key to unlocking our potential. I have found that the harder I work, the luckier I get. Learn from people who have gone where you want to go, talk to them, read about them. It will give you a clearer perspective on what is needed to achieve what you want. Focus on today. Don’t worry about tomorrow.

5. Fundamentals. How you eat, sleep, exercise are the foundation to your life. If you really desire to have a successful life you have to start here.
