Make 2017 better than 2016

The year is coming to an end! We hope that 2016 has treated you well and that you were able to accomplish some of your goals. If you don’t feel like you were able to do much, don’t worry, there’s always 2017. We’ve compiled a list of things that you can do to be successful when it comes to setting and hitting your New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s how to make 2017 better than 2016:

Get in shape– This resolution is probably set every year. Set a goal to exercise every day. It doesn’t have to be an hour a day. Set a realistic goal and go for it!

Be more active– Sometimes the best way to hit your health goals is just to be more active. Choose a hobby that gets your outside! Hiking, swimming, racquetball, whatever it takes.

Eat better– Set limits to the amount of times you eat out. You can also try doing meal plans and prep. This can help you save money as well as working on your health!

Career goals– What are you good at and what do you love? Go for it! If you aren’t happy where you are at work, the only solution is to work harder. Improve your skills, take classes, apply for jobs that you think you would enjoy. Be confident in what you are good at and you will see doors open that you didn’t even know existed.

Find happy– What makes you happy? Do more of that this year.

Arrive on timeIf you find yourself showing up late to most things, it might be time you change things up. A part of being professional and respectful is being on time. Try setting your watch 5-10 minutes ahead.

Sleep better– Notice how this doesn’t say sleep more. If this means turning off the tv screen earlier, do it. Take time to wind down and relax before going to sleep. If you are up scrolling before you fall asleep, your brain will keep scrolling.

Spend time with people who matter– Your work life and school life might take up a lot of your time, so don’t forget to spend what you have left with those you love. Build relationships that matter and will last. Spend less time on social media.

Get out of debt– Debt weighs you down and holds you back. Use a budget this year and focus on cutting your spending. That way you can put your savings towards paying off debt.

Give back– Life will always have it’s stresses. Forget about yourself by giving back and helping others!

Write– Write down your goals and what you want to accomplish. Go back frequently to the goals you’ve set and check your progress.
