Healthy Habits for Better Days

Do you ever go to bed thinking, “what did I even accomplish today?” Running around and staying busy, but not being able to check anything off your “To Do” list? Then you continue doing the same old routine the next day? Having a good and productive day can be fixed with a few healthy habits throughout the day. Here are our ideas for new habits to make your day better.

Everyone knows that a good morning starts the night before. If you are hitting the snooze button 1 too many times and having a groggy morning, it’s probably time to make some adjustments to your night schedule. I recently read, “Success comes to those who have the will power to win over their snooze buttons.” And I believe it! Get into the habit of going to be early enough to get hours of sleep that are needed for a productive day. That means 7-9 hours of sleep, which is the recommended amount of sleep for adults.*

After waking up to your alarm clock on the first time, stretch and exercise for 5 minutes. That’s it. Just 5 minutes. This will help wake you up and feel motivated for a great day ahead. Plus this is an easy habit to start! It’s easy because it’s only for 5 minutes. Setting a goal to exercise for 45 minutes each morning when you haven’t been, is a lot less realistic. So start with 5.

Set yourself up for success by making a schedule and sticking to it. This way you will know what you need to do to be productive at any hour of the day. Then at the end of the day you can check back and see how accomplished you really were. Next, make tomorrow’s schedule so you are ready for another good day! If things didn’t work out as you hoped, brush it off and move on! Because tomorrow is a new day.

Again, go to bed at a reasonable hour, then you wake up, start again from the top.
