Stuck with the Winter Blues?

The weather can play a major role in our daily mood so we have created a list to help you stay happy while the sun isn’t shining.

Take part in Winter activities.

The snow can be annoying if the only thing you do in it is drive. Change things up and go sledding, skiing or snowboarding. This will get you outside and keep you active! It can also get you away from the city and smog that is grey and depressing. Bundle up and spend some time with family on slopes.

Find something new to do with your spare time.

Read a book you’ve never read, go to a movie you’ve never seen, visit a museum or art gallery that you’ve never been to! Expanding your [something] will not only help time go by faster but also keep you interested in new things.

Surround yourself with positive people.

If the weather is keeping you from staying positive, don’t hang out with the Debbie Downer friend who never has anything uplifting to say.

De-clutter your house.

Clutter and cloudy weather are a bad combination. Organizing and cleaning up can help keep your mentally positive and it will also give you a sense of accomplishment! You can even make some extra cash by selling some things you don’t use anymore.

Eat properly.

Avoid food that makes you feel sluggish and choose your carbohydrates wisely. We all crave carbs during colder months but make sure that they are good for you! Eat lots of fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Vitamin B is also an easy way to help stop you from feeling blue. Eat lentils, peas, and spinach to get more of it.

Lastly, you have to get through the winter to enjoy summer! Stay positive, brighter times are ahead.
