The year is almost over! If you made New Year’s Resolutions earlier this year, it’s time to look back and see how you’ve done. If you didn’t make any, it’s time to start thinking about resolutions in a better way and preparing for the ones you can make for next year.

Every New Year we try to set goals or make resolutions. If you are like me, there are quite a few goals that I have either forgotten about or have given up on. The good news is that there is still one more month to reach this year’s goals! You may have to think hard or look up the goals you hopefully wrote down, but It’s important to check on what progress you’ve made this year.

A couple of reasons why goals aren’t met are because they aren’t good goals. Make sure that each goal is measurable, specific, and can be broken down into smaller achievable goals. Another reason could be that there are so many resolutions that it’s overwhelming and not a single one is made. Start by making one change at a time. Set smaller month, week and daily goals. That way you can also celebrate smaller achievements along the way!

Writing down these goals and putting them somewhere you will see them will help remind you of what you want to accomplish. Stick to these goals and don’t give up! A year may seem like a long time but it goes by quickly and if you don’t maintain on track you will end up in the same place as this year.

Remember that the purpose of these resolutions are to help you become a better person! Make sure that this time next year you are able to look back, see progress, and be close accomplishing them!
