October Budgeting

Monthly budgeting

Need help budgeting for this month? Here are tips and tricks on where you can save and where to budget to make the most of October!

Halloween.

It’s creeping up fast. Make sure to budget for costumes and Candy for the trick-or-treaters. You don’t want to be the only one without candy this year. However, try not to waste money on decorations that you won’t ever use again. Make halloween crafts with your kids to decorate the house. This will save you money and make memories for your children.

Fall clothing.

Fall is here and that means cold weather.  Budget for new clothing that is needed. Jackets, boots and scarves. If you have kids that are constantly growing, it’s probably time for new winter clothes. Check stores for fall sales and special savings!

Fall break.

In Utah there is fall break. Traveling can be expensive. If you have started to budget for your trip remember to put into account gas and food. These are often looked over. If you don’t have the budget for leaving town, look for free fall events in your local city. From pumpkin patches to farmer’s markets, there are things you and your family can do for free to have a great break!

Summer is over.

That means that summer items will be on sale! Go swimsuit shopping for next year and save. Look for other sales going on because retailers don’t want summer inventory on their shelves anymore.

Start saving for Christmas.

It’s the most expensive time of the year and it is only three months away. Start saving and budgeting now so you don’t break the bank in December. Setting a little aside each paycheck until Christmas, will make spending a lot less stressful and more enjoyable.
